Rhode
Island is famous for Quahogs, Newport, Providence TV show, Family Guy,
Brown University, the big blue bug on Rte 95 and of course corruption.
STATE OF CORRUPTION has seen it all come and go in the rock
sub-genre of rap rock. Being one of the first bands to rap & yell to hard
rock music has never paid off financially (on a national level) for those
dudes from the ocean state. Too bad! These guys deserve it!
SOC have always been a band that carried its own weight while
sharing the stage with national acts like Sevendust, Bloodhound Gang, Kid
Rock, Powerman 5000, Staind and Godsmack. Unlike most of the current rap
rock bands making $ out there, SOC does not sing to hook in all the
teen girls as fans. King Mike L and Fasad rap style reminds me of 80's rap
meets the Biohazard
yell/scream formula.
One of my favorite live moments of SOC was when I saw them perform
at a sold out show at Lupo's (Providence, RI) and Godsmack was the opening
act. SOC were the best band that night and Godsmack is now big,
Where's the justice? SOC should have been the ones to be on every
rock radio station in America like Godsmack. That's this rock critic/fan's
opinion!
My favorite songs on 3 are "Respect", "Tourniquet","2048", "Land Of
The Misfit Toys ", "Stripper Song", "Bushido"
Samples (from movies like JFK, Goodfellas & Scarface) & scratches from DJ
Thrill. He does an excellent job live and on disc. Cool!
