Formed in upstate New York by formers members of the Troy, NY band
STIGMATA, DEAD RABBITS are putting their stamp on the rock sub
genre called stoner rock/metal. Fans of bands Fu Manchu, Kyuss, Monster
Magnet & Corrosion Of Coformity know exactly what I mean. Picture heavy
hard fuzzy guitar tones like old Black Sabbath. DR also channels
Skynyrd or southern twinged vocals throughout the disc.
DEAD RABBITS have the chops to rock with the best of them. Having
share the stage with High On Fire, Andrew W.K. and the Dillinger Escape
Plan. Good rhythm section, good vocals and real good guitar playing and
cool heavy riffs. They can go as fast as anyone in the sub genre and play
the catchy ass grooves with heavy guitar. Nice! I like it…
DEAD RABBITS also have 3 cover songs on Sin Eater: “Manic
Depression” & “Little Wing” from the original Mr. Jimi Hendrix and the CCR
classic “Fortunate Son”. I enjoyed “Little Wing” the most of the 3. Very
good representation of the Jimi classic
I wouldn’t be surprised if Mike Hsu has played DEAD RABBITS on
“HARDER FASTER” on 107.3FM (Boston, MA). Every weekday night he plays a
stoner hit and DR should be on his show (if I know Hsu, he has!).
