L.A. power trio NEBULA are back with their newest cd Apollo.

NEBULA was formed from Eddie Glass & Ruben Romano from the bad Fu Manchu back in 1997.

Apollo is full of big fuzzy catchy guitar riffs o'plenty and trippy interludes that remind me of the 1970's album rock radio.  Not sure if I would call this cd all stoner rock.  It reminds me more of bands from the 70's who jammed and tried to bring a groove to the table.

The height of the stoner rock/metal sub genre was probably during the 1990's with bands like Monster Magnet, Queens Of The Stoner Age, Kyuss and Fu Manchu.  I appreciated those bands for their style and musicianship and had the chance to partake in their live groovy & heavy vibed shows.  Not too many brain cells left from those days.

Apollo is one of these cds I would like to hang out on a Friday night with a lava light and certain mood altering substances.   I could sit back and listen to big, groovy and fuzzy guitar & cool rhythms all night long.
