FROM NUCLEAR BLAST:

"Combining technical ability with true songwriting is a balancing act that modern metal bands rarely accomplish. ARSIS proves the exception. Progressive structures combined with hauntingly memorable passages reminiscent of later Death albums keep the evolution alive. We are the Nightmare shines brightly in a scene full of failed attempts."- Chris Adler, LAMB OF GOD

Determined to complete a tour with no car accidents, illnesses, or other distressing turmoil and ready to brave the road once again for the upcoming Thrash And Burn Tour, ARSIS bassist Noah Martin checks in to bring us up-to-date on tour preparations and the band’s newest addition:

The video to the title track off of We Are The Nightmare recently received an outpouring of fan votes on MTV2's "Your Vote Counts" for inclusion on the next episode of Headbangers Ball. Metal Maniacs Magazine has praised the new album as "a solid concentration of technical death metal compositions" in their August issue, on sale now at newsstands.

Completely dedicated to expanding the reaches of melodicism and technicality, ARSIS delivers a venomous and virulent strain of guitar-centric melodic death metal eager to bring merit back to their genre and the metal underground as a whole.

"'Malice' is 11 chunks of bloody meat sure to tickle the taste buds of most death metal devotees." - Blabbermouth

"Most bands implode from such a radical change. But Through The Eyes of The Dead have seized the moment-with both hands around the throat." – Revolver

"...the disciplined, cannonading Malice has this band finding its sound at last. Our little band's all grown up." - Decibel

"Guitar leads are drawn from the realm of discordant widdling and perfectly complement the carnage around them, gore-inspired lyrics adding the right level of sheer nastiness." - Kerrang

"Through The Eyes of the Dead are a monstrous proposition; seething, scything intensity and superhuman kick-drum violence are their stock in trade, but the songs are shrewdly written and arranged too..." – Brave Words & Bloody Knuckles

"required listening for the advancement of extreme metal culture" - MetalReview.com

"a band that has stripped down, stepped up and delivered a pretty direct, violent set of sonic assaults that should impress even the most grizzled death metal fan" - Digital Metal

FROM PROSTHETIC RECORDS:

KYLESA confirms headlining shows, dates with Pinback; enters studio

Savannah, Ga.’s KYLESA have announced a string of East Coast shows which will also bring the band to parts of the southern US, including a handful of headlining dates and 11 shows with Pinback. These shows are the first for KYLESA since taking part in a co-headlining tour with Germany’s The Ocean earlier this summer, and will be the band’s first after leaving The Jam Room Studio in South Carolina, where they are currently holed up recording the follow-up to the band’s third full-length, ‘Time Will Fuse Its Worth,’ which saw a fall 2006 release through Prosthetic Records.

"We've been writing a new record over the past few months," the band wrote on its blog http://www.myspace.com/kylesa . "We're excited to record a new album since it's been two years since we recorded ‘Time Will Fuse its Worth.’ It's hard to believe it's been that long! The CD will be released on Prosthetic in early ‘09 and the vinyl version will come out around the same time. Phillip [Cope, guitarist/vocalist] will be producing the record." Expect several in-studio updates from the band in the meantime.

KYLESA has also made tentative plans to tour Japan for the first time upon release of the Japanese edition of ‘Time Will Fuse Its Worth,’ which will be handled by Red Cobalt Industries. Featuring completely redesigned artwork by guitarist/vocalist Laura Pleasants and an exclusive poster and sticker, production on that will begin soon and more details will be available shortly, including release details and overseas tour dates.

"...rather than lean more toward metal, this album seems less leather and studs and more safety pin through the nose than their last one, To Walk A Middle Course, making it a heavy contender (no pun intended) for best punk album of the year." - CMJ magazine

"Sometimes [drummers Jeff] Porter and [Carl] McGinley work in tandem to summon the Hessian hordes; sometimes one puts oin the brakes and gives way to the other, which directly parallels how the three-headed vocalist hydra transacts its business." - 8/10, Decibel magazine

"The voices alternately roar in shredded tones - dropping in and out, overlapping, occasionally locking into sweet harmony and then collapsing as one into pensive, moody silences. Kylesa have a three-vocalist frontline, all clutching machine gun guitars, and two drummers who intermittenly drop sticks to perform 'noise' duties. They're a psychedelic commando unit." - Metal Hammer magazine

"They have a messy, psychedelic edge that is very appealing, thanks to their restrained use of samples. In fact at times they border on space rock, but they slip through any neat genre definitions. Sure it's hardcore, it's stoner rock, but it's also a whole lot more." - 8/10, Metal Hammer magazine

"Heavy riffs, infectious grooves, and the trademark duelling vocal attack of Philip Cope, Laura Pleasants and Corey Barhorst combine to produce one hell of a record that finds Kylesa taking a giant leap into the rock stratosphere." - 8/10, Rock Sound magazine

"The latest effort from US mavericks Kylesa is a staggeringly potent distillation of their musical might. Now with two drummers for extra percussive force, this band manages to explore the very definition of the word 'heavy'; as well as riffs which come at you like a feral beast, there's an aexperimental instinct present in their work which takes it into undiscovered territories." - 5/5, Kerrang! magazine

"Buzz bands usually have some nefarious PR scheme behind them, so it’s anyone’s guess how an under-publicized Georgia noise-metal group who at their catchiest recall early Neurosis won over so many media tastemakers last year. But that’s the cross Kylesa have borne since 2005’s To Walk A Middle Course; and with the follow-up, the Savannah quintet prove the attention’s not gone to their heads. Time Will Fuse Its Worth is even less commercially viable than its precursor, with Kylesa alternately wallowing in their trademark co-ed noise ("Where The Horizon Unfolds"); dredging up miles of prime Southern sludge ("The Warning"); and summoning the post-nuclear crust-metal of genre stalwarts like Dead And Gone ("Identity Defined"). It may not be 2006’s most earth-shattering album, but as Time plays on, you realize why Kylesa’s rep is growing: They’re one of the only bands brave enough to throw a wrench into metal’s commercial machine. - 4/5, Alternative Press magazine

NEURAXIS interview featured at HardTimes.ca; THE THIN LINE BETWEEN in stores now

Upon release of the band’s latest album, ’The Thin Line Between,’ HardTimes.ca has posted interview footage of Montreal tech-death band NEURAXIS online here (http://www.hardtimes.ca/node/6536), featuring commentary from guitarist Rob Milley and new vocalist Alex Leblanc. The album saw release earlier this week through the band’s new home, Prosthetic Records, and an online e-card for for the album, with several songs streaming, is online here (http://www.prostheticrecords.com/ecards/neuraxis/). Featuring the studio debuts of new NEURAXIS members guitarist William Seghers and Leblanc, ‘The Thin Line Between’ was recorded with Anonymus guitarist Jef Fortin and features artwork from Dennis Sibejin of Damnengine Art (Job For A Cowboy, Chimaira) earlier this year in Canada, and is the follow-up to last year’s live disc, ‘Live Progression,’ which saw release through Galy Records.

NEURAXIS is taking part in the Summer Slaughter Canada Tour in August alongside Necrophagist, Dying Fetus, Beneath The Massacre and more, while Stateside dates are currently scheduled for this fall. More details on that will be available shortly. There are a series of in-studio updates featuring footage from the making of ‘The Thin Line Between’ available online here (http://www.youtube.com/neuraxismetal).

NEURAXIS on tour (Summer Slaughter Canada with Necrophagist, Dying Fetus, Beneath The Massacre, Into Eternity, Whitechapel, Veil Of Maya, Divinity, and Common Grave)
8/14 Quebec City, QC – Imperial
8/15 Montreal, QC – Club Soda
8/16 Toronto, ON – Opera House

8/18 Thunder Bay, ON – Kilroy's

(no Common Grave, Divinity)

"The Thin Line Between certainly doesn’t disappoint…Neuraxis even have new levels of dynamics and some impossible drumming that sounds like two Meshuggahs fighting for air." – Revolver magazine

"At one point, [vocalist Alex] Leblanc roars, "Wicked…wicked…wicked!" We can’t help but agree." - Decibel magazine

""NEURAXIS are among the elite of the tech-death genre." - Blabbermouth

"The Thin Line Between will satisfy Neuraxis fans, and keep them in the upper echelon of their genre." - About.com

"The thin line between a resolution and a new religion. They're riding on it….it would still be criminal to pass it up." - Metal Review.com

"Neuraxis hit the nail on the head and shattered the damned thing with a release that is sure to be on many year-end lists." - Metalsucks.net

"This is a technical and progressively minded band whose song structures reveal plenty of brains. There’s also plenty of melody to go around. All while maintaining a core personality as death metal. Go figure. Or, rather, go check it out." - Pine Bluff Commercial

"Too melodic to be lumped in with so much of today's faceless tech-death, but far too instrumentally complex to be mistaken for another gratuitous Dark Tranquility clone, Neuraxis have carved out a rather unique niche for themselves amidst their death metal peers." - Sonic Frontiers

"Neuraxis has chops to spare and aren't afraid to show them. One song on this album possibly has more riffs than some entire albums. That in itself is impressive but when you add in the fact that the band makes it memorable it is just mind blowing. This one comes highly recommended." - Unbound

"Craigery Owens, the virtuosic lead singer, could be doing double duty in a horror movie. [On Bone Palace Ballet] He alternates between the fearsome roar of a monster and the pleading falsetto of a victim. And the best songs here go way over the top, like 'Bulls Make Money, Bears Make Money, Pigs Get Slaughtered,' which gets more unhinged as it goes on. The new wave introduction makes way for an operatic chorus and a mosh-metal break..." --Kelefa Sanneh, NEW YORK TIMES, (9/3/07)

"When Owens takes the stage, he's virtuosic. He flails, rooster-struts and raises his fists like a warrior vowing revenge. As he sings about betrayal, obsession and bloodlust, he switches between a wounded, pitch perfect falsetto and a razorblade gargle: the vulnerable psychopath."--Jonah Weiner, BLENDER, (12/07)

"[On] Bone Palace Ballet--the beefed up production harnesses the raw, unrestrained energy of the group's breakout release 2005's All's Well that Ends Well, into a grander, more substantive affair. The album still packs the hardcore punch of the band's previous work, with plenty of heavy, blistering guitar riffs and frontman Craig Owens' rough growls and shrieks. But there's a newfound orchestral and melodic touch, with livelier piano driven jaunts that nod to Queen--see 'Lexington (Joey Pea-Pot With a Monkey Face)' and stripped down string-backed ballads 'Intensity In Ten Cities.' A mature step up for a band on the rise."--Jill Menze, BILLBOARD.COM, (9/3/07)

"...Chiodos was similarly memorable, its rough-around-the-edges fusion of My Chemical Romance-styled modern rock churning infectiously within progressive metal keyboard trappings and guitar riffs."-Paul Gargano, HOLLYWOOD REPORTER (3/6/08)

"With Bone Palace Ballet, recorded in Kentucky with producer Casey Bates, Chiodos retain the fury of (debut CD) All's Well but sounds more sophisticated and polished. The album is more experimental and melodically advanced..."

--Gary Graff, REVOLVER (4/2008)

"Their latest, Bone Palace Ballet, displays newfound prog prowess, metal chops, a grasp of dynamics and helium-voiced belter Craigery Owens' understanding of pop hooks and melody, making this one for the connoisseurs. Oh, and they have a sense of humor, too."--VILLAGE VOICE, (11/27/07)

"Two albums in and Chiodos are turning into one hell of a band. Dealing in a wholly creative type of proggy post-hardcore, Bone Palace Ballet sees them incorporate all manner of instruments alongside their staple guitar/piano combination, not least Craig Owen's unusual voice... In penning powerful songs that aim for something way beyond the mundane, Chiodos have undoubtedly struck gold."

-Laila Hassani, KERRANG! (10/27/07)

Produced by Adam D., Matt Goldman and UNDEROATH, LOST IN THE SOUND OF SEPARATION--their fourth studio album--is beginning to receive early critical acclaim. Check out the five-out-of-five star lead CD review out now in the August issue of Alternative Press magazine: "...The 'sing-scream-harmonize-repeat' subgenre that's dominated the scene in recent years is played out. Odds are that Underoath will be the first six people to tell you this, which is why they've made an enormous effort to put an ocean's distance between 2004's overtly poppy (and semi-generic) breakthrough album They're Only Chasing Safety and the music they are making today. If one listen to 2006's jarring Define the Great Line didn't prove this spiritualized sextet were bent on progressing, LOST IN THE SOUND OF SEPARATION will surely prove to the world-at least those who listen to their gospel-that Underoath are one of the most powerful, passionate and creative bands in heavy music today.

Separation legitimately feels like the band listened to Line, made note of the very few places they could trim some fat and then decided to one-up themselves across the board. LOST IN THE SOUND OF SEPARATION is truly 2008's first perfect record, which is made all the more fascinating when it's realized that it was created out of the mistakes, shortcomings and misgivings of its members from throughout the past two years. Once again, Underoath have elevated themselves to a level of their own."

"The opportunity for BLIND GUARDIAN to work on a popular video game is quite exciting alone,” said singer Hansi Kürsch. "For us to contribute to and have our band exist within a game as rich as Sacred 2: Fallen Angel has been very rewarding for us, as gamers and fans of the Sacred series.”

“We’ve been long-time fans of BLIND GUARDIAN’s music,” added developer Ascaron Entertainment’s founder Holger Flöttmann. “The opportunity to have one of our favorite bands write a song and include their alter egos in-game has been a wonderful experience. It also signifies how great music and amazing games can fit together to deliver an even more enjoyable experience to gamers.”

“The members of BLIND GUARDIAN and their U.S. record label, Nuclear Blast, have been extremely easy to work with,” indicated Mario Kroll, Director of Marketing and Public Relations for cdv Software Entertainment USA. "To have musicians of this caliber and popularity not only help and create, but also promote Sacred 2: Fallen Angel is something we're incredibly excited about."

Sacred 2: Fallen Angel will be released on PC in September 2008.  Console versions will be released in November.  A Sacred 2 video trailer can be viewed on the cdv USA homepage here, on MySpace here, on You Tube here, on Facebook here, and can be downloaded here.   For more information, please visit the Sacred 2 website at http://www.sacred2.com.

WINDS OF PLAGUE Debuts “The Impaler” Video On MySpace Metal; Banned By MTV

WINDS OF PLAGUE recently stirred up some controversy as their much-anticipated new video for the track “The Impaler” was rejected by MTV for it’s supposed “graphic language and questionable content.” However, this didn’t deter MySpace Metal from stepping up to the plate and debuting the clip on their site, which has just gone live today. Click on the link below to check it out now.

Johnny (vocals) further states: “We wanted to create a video that was entertaining and a bit outside the box as far as metal videos go. We were torn between an over the top epic metal video and a more fun, rap club style video, so we decided to combine the two worlds since we have been known to cross over genres anyways. We had a lot of our good friends come down to the location is Los Angeles and just had a blast putting this video together. Despite being really sick, it was one of the most fun days of my life. Director Jake Avignone was amazing to work with and I was really impressed with how efficient and smooth the whole operation went. I hope it confuses the hell out of everyone and makes traditional metal patrons heads explode.”

WINDS OF PLAGUE is currently one of the hottest bands in the genre, which is further cemented by the fact that they were just hand-picked by the legendary Glenn Danzig for his 20th anniversary tour this fall. The massive North American trek, dubbed the “Blackest of The Black,” kicks off in October and also features Dimmu Borgir, Moonspell and Skeletonwitch.

The group will embark on their next North American jaunt later this month as part of the “Thrash and Burn” festival that also features Darkest Hour, Parkway Drive, Misery Signals, Stick To Your Guns, Arsis, Arsonists Get All The Girls and After The Burial so feel free to hit http://www.myspace.com/thrashandburntour or http://www.myspace.com/windsofplague to view the complete tour routing.
